Keepin’ on colour wheelin’

Every time I make another one, I learn more. In this one, the colours were muted by mixing with their complementaries and white. I cannot explain why I put that brown smudge in the middle. Something Freudian, probably.

And this one (below) is so trashy that it reminds me of Mike Kelley’s interrogations of “bad” taste. It looks a bit like what you see through the viewing holes in Kelley’s installation Channel One Channel Two Channel Three, which is currently on display at Tate Modern, London. This colour wheel was also the inspiration for these painted breasts.
